Holsters & Carry Options

The venerable 1911 is a large frame pistol. It is, though, easy to carry, and conceal, once you figure out the correct holster with the proper cant and ability to fit your body's "sweet spot". Whether you prefer Long Slide, Government, Commander, Concealed Carry Officer or the Officer, the 1911 is formidable weapon a good holster can make it disappear on your body.

  • IWB - In Waistband Holsters
A 1911 in a high quality IWB holster will literally disappear beneath the right cover garment. Concealment is just half the battle. You also need a holster that is comfortable. Holster offerings are almost endless but finding the right one for you, that will hold up to daily wear in all weather, is another thing entirely.

  • OWB - On Waistband Holsters
Not always considered a concealment holster, an OWB holster, with the proper cant can still be very effective at concealing the 1911 regardless of barrel length. They are generally more comfortable than most IWB holsters. Like the IWB, there are a lot of OWB holsters out there but it is important to find the right holster, for you, that will hold up to the rigors of everyday wear.

Shoulder holsters, and others, are also an effective way to conceal your 1911. There's even a place for ankle holsters, "deep cover" and "off body", under some in certain circumstances.
